August 17, 2007 at 11:21 PMDave, my favorite Cary Grant film is "Charades"...it's the best! It has your favorite 香槟酒-drinking gal co-starring! Bazza, thx. I didn't really understand the double entendre in 漫长 till you put it in hanzi...i think i understand it now.

August 16, 2007 at 5:40 PMThanx Dottie, Dave, Bazza, but what did Jenny mean when she said the Chinese title was a "really good education?" 西北偏北 just means "North-west-flat-west" doesn't it? And, Henning, I hate to disappoint you, but it wasn't knowledge or memory as much as research skills. I used IMDB, searched for films about trains, looked for older films. Then, since the names were the key clue, I listened carefully to the two actors introducing themselves, and VOILA! "Roger Thornhill" and "Eve Kendall." I figured it had to be Cary Grant's film because he always has really clever dialogue and he has a mischievous way about him.

August 21, 2007 at 12:49 AMI read this truly inspiring article about a paralyzed Chinese Olympic gymnast; it is remarkable. Reading about her life really puts things in prespective. ' "Knowing her own prognosis, she showed nothing but courage and exceptional spirit. " ' http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/2008/2007-06/29/content_906061_2.htm
