changye, let me try. 你怎么来了? This means "how come you came when I/we weren't expecting you?" It expresses surprise, or disappointment because you weren't expecting that person. 你怎么来的? This is asking by what method you came, by car, by plane, by foot, etc. It's more neutral emotionally. 你怎么不来? This is more "how come you're not coming" in more of a vague tone. It isn't "why don't you come?" (see below.) 你为什么不来? This is "what is the reason you are not coming," asking specifically for a reason why you are not coming. Another thing, when you say "why don't you come?" it really means "I want you to come." It's not asking so much as expressing desire for that person to come. If you want to find out why someone is not coming (你为什么不来?) you'd say, "why aren't you coming?" Hope this clarifies things.

I've often commented that if we can bottle up the energy of little children, we can make a fortune selling it to us old, tired adults. The dad's last comment, " 因为我累了!!!" "because I'M tired!!" made me chuckle so much because, as any parent knows, you just get to a point where you want to say, "BECAUSE I SAID SO, THAT'S WHY!" Great job, everyone!

The snacks I remember the most from when I was a little girl growing up in Taiwan were suang1mei (preserved plums,) luo2buo1gan1 (dried turnips strips,) do4fu3gan (dried tofu,) and chewing on sugar cane sticks. Although, I love living in AZ, I lament the fact that the closest Asian grocery store is a good 30 minute drive away : ( Ke3xi1i, ke3xi1 (it's a pity x 2)
