November 22, 2007 at 1:38 PMOk - I solved the mouse over problem by deleting cookies on the rouge computer. Sorry. I still would prefer accent marks but can live with numbers.

November 22, 2007 at 1:30 PMActually on one computer the mouse-overs appear in one format and on another they appear differently. My problem I guess.

November 22, 2007 at 1:22 PMWell, I take that back- mouse-overs are now back showing traditional and pinyin with only numbers. I gues we are simply in a state of flux.

November 22, 2007 at 1:12 PMClay, I thlink what Ron is asking is - in the cases where the traditional and simplified characters are the same, why not just leave the space for the trad character blank? I dont think his comment expresses any dislike of showing traditional characters in general but I dont want to speak for Ron. I would like to keep them. My home page is still not updating and the lessons there are in reverse order. Vocab still completely missing. Currently the mouse over pop ups show pinyin twice - one with numbers, the other with accents but no traditional character. This is useless. I prefer the accent marks but we dont need both. Traditional characters are now gone. Is everybody seeing this the same way?

November 19, 2007 at 9:58 AMAgreed, good lesson. The QW's are great supplemental lessons and especially helpful are the vocab words posted in the comments. I was wondering if it would be worth the effort to create an informal pdf file for each of the QW's? Putting the vocab and examples in the comments works fine but it would be easier to work with, save, and print in pdf.

November 17, 2007 at 12:30 AMHenning, I have to agree. Americans are the ones with the problem. Americans have this horrible hypocritical double standard that comes from our puritan history I think.
