I had cooked durian for desert in SH recently and it was very good. Didnt stink and didnt taste strange. I have yet to try it in its raw form. Im guessing I will not like it but there is a chance I may find it wonderful in some way. I think the smell would be a problem however. Who wants to walk around smelling like rotten socks all day? A sure way to prevent any pre-marital sex or one night stands.

If I understand your question correctly, Ni you mei you is the positive negative way of asking a question. You "have, dont have" something and you dont use the ma at the end.  Ni you ma is just a question due to the ma particle... Do you have something? It is an arbitrary choice as to which form you use. They are indeed interchangeable.

Chris- the overwhelming answer to this question in the past has always been - buy a hand held palm such as tungsten and load with plecodict software. I am planning to do just that but have not as of yet.

the possesive "de" (的) can be omitted when the possesor is represented by a personal pronoun and the possesed is a personal noun such as one's parents. This is roughly the rule.

There are many lessons that return "no data" when one attempts to use the sound files in dialouge or expansion. They have made no progress on this since the format change. Most irritating.

I have to agree with Dave here that the Aric film made me uncomfortable, and of course I dont agree with Sharon Stones statement. A horrible thing to say in my opinion. An incredibly ignorant thing to say as well. Dave, I dont agree that we should have any sympathy for her unless she has apologized at the very least, and I dont believe she has. (correct me if I am wrong). Truthfully I dont know and Im not sure it would help. Its not the same as the dumb things you say (sorry couldnt resist :-) )because she sits at a pulpit of celebrity. The last stunt she pulled while sitting there didnt involve words. I didnt realize she was so ignorant.

jbradfor,

I believe 鸡 (ji1) is used as slang for prostitute because 妓 (ji4) is the character for prostitute and sounds very similar.
