Great lesson. I'm going to push it on my friend I've been teaching 条 to. Also useful to learn that 手镯 is not the only word for "bracelet."

I think this lesson missed the opportunity to discuss the various uses of 了 presented here. It's one thing to be able to get what the sentence is meaning, quite another to be able to produce them correctly. I think that 了 is so complex, it can never hurt to review and remind what the 了s are doing, especially when you have a lesson with various uses of 了, as here.

Interesting. In class we were taught that 俩 was used exclusively for describing two people who have a close relationship.

Yay, a lesson I requested. Thank you so much. This lesson is pretty dense; I'm going to have to listen a few times. (:

Hi chrissyT, I didn't see that function. I am intrigued. May I ask, where does one find it?

Fiona gives an example sentence:
"我一直想要住在山里." - I've always wanted to live in the mountains.
Could you explain in more detail exactly what sort of area this is referring to? Would this mean living at a high elevation among mountains? Would it mean living in a valley between mountains? Would it mean living anywhere with a view of mountains?
Thanks.
