December 18, 2016 at 10:51 PMPrevious Chinesepod lessons have stated that inserting "这个" before a person, whether yourself or someone else, is somewhat demeaning, used either to insult the other person, or indicate humility in oneself. That was not mentioned in the discussion here of "我这人…." Is that because leaving out the 个 changes the meaning, or is inserting 这个 as a means of lowering someone's status a regional application? Thanks.

Listening to the dialogue, I thought they'd left the house suddenly and only when reading the transcript realized that they'd stepped out for a short amount of time. Thanks.

November 17, 2016 at 9:12 PMI originally learned 约会 as being equally appropriate for dates or for appointments (such as a doctor's appointment). Has that changed? Is using 约会 exclusively for dating a recent development, or a Taiwan-specific usage?

November 16, 2016 at 7:43 PM发票 is an official receipt used for tax purposes and such. Many small stores do not issue them. 收据 is the term for a more informal receipt.
