May 25, 2016 at 5:46 PMLast time I was in China I found notices looking for an "语伴." My Chinese friend had never heard such a term, but it seemed to be common among people looking for a language exchange partner. This was in Beijing.

April 16, 2016 at 4:26 PMMy impression is the latter, since Fiona suggests we can use it ourselves when waiting a long time. Presumably we won't be always wandering around with flowers.

April 14, 2016 at 7:31 PMFiona thank you so much. You are so thorough and this is all very helpful. I thought I had my tones down, but no one's ever mentioned to me before pronouncing 儿 as a second, lower first tone. I will check that out.

April 14, 2016 at 7:17 PMIn the 繁体 PDF, you have two forms of 里. Can you explain the reasons for the two different characters?
而且住這裡真幸福……
在同一個池子裏……
Thank you.

April 10, 2016 at 8:55 PMI have four questions.
Could you explain the context for the use of the term 洋装? A Google Images search for this term did indeed yield images of dresses, but the term is translated as "Western-style clothing" or a Western-style suit in the dictionary. Chinese Wikipedia uses the term 连衣裙 for the page corresponding to the English page for "dress."
Is 人家 generally used when the speaker is being 撒娇?
Can 谢 also be used in referring to male anatomy?
花儿 is listed as first tone, but both Fiona and the dialogue speaker pronounce it as fourth tone. Is this the common way of pronouncing 花儿? Does it relate to being irritated?
