March 12, 2015 at 3:07 PMHi all, I see that买气 is translated aspopularity; sellability.I am a bit confused as to where the definition comes from as 买 means to buy and气 means gas or to be angry. At first I thought it was similar to买得起 but in a positive "can sell" form but I noticed that the characters are different for the "qi"

March 11, 2015 at 2:13 PMThanks for the info Gwilym, you explained things pretty well. So I am thinking that for most cases I will use 本来 as it seems less complicated to use and the meanings are the same. Then later on I can work on the extended meanings and specific uses for each.

Just wondering what the difference is between 本来 and 原来. Both seem to mean originally so I was wondering if they could be used interchangeably.

February 27, 2015 at 2:24 PMThe recent episodes of Qing Wen have been great both in content and production quality. Learning the useful grammer and differences between similar words really helps tie all my other everything together. The new video format is terrific, especially with the table on the left side that lets you easily navigate to specific parts of the content. Looking forward to more videos in the future.
Side Note: Was there no intermediate lesson for this week? I am only seeing the newbie, elementary, upper int. and advanced.

March 27, 2015 at 4:44 AMI have been stuck in an elevator before for an hour in my apartment building. Thankfully the experience went pretty much like this and the technician showed up and let me out. Was pretty boring though because I didn't have my phone :(Cool lesson though, I now know what to say if this happens while in China.
