The sentence 你再看远处,那里有好多工厂 is a follow-up comment to the speaker's previous sentence 你打开窗闻闻; the 再 serves to emphasize this transition.

想要 is a politer way of saying "to want" and can be used with any object. It's not restricted to ordering food.

Hey Jerry,

I think there was some confusion with the translation. The translation "I'd like a book" is used in this context simply because it's a politer way of expressing "to want;" there's no future implications. If you wanted to say something that was more future oriented like "I'm thinking that I want a book," the Chinese would be: “我在想我要一本书”。
