IE9 compatibility?

July 18, 2011 at 05:52 AM posted in General DiscussionHi, I think I'm experiencing IE9-related problems with the comment-writing text box. I just installed it recently and while I'm not sure I'll continue to use this browser, could this be looked into?
1) sometimes when I try to post a comment or new post I get a blank page saying "failed".
2) The comment-writing text box doesn't recognize anything I do with the mouse. I can't click on the text I typed in the box to get the cursor to move to the location I want it to go (so I have to use the arrow keys to move), can't select any text (to delete or highlight).
3) Clicking on the image-adding icon in the tool bar does nothing.
Thank you.

This issue got resolved! 谢谢! I came here to jubilantly say, when I see that on this page the problems do persist. *sigh* Oh well. I'm happy that it seems at least to be partially resolved (just posted a comment http://chinesepod.com/lessons/new-years-well-wishes#comment-230320 that wouldn't have been possible otherwise).

Hi zhenlijiang, thank you for contacting us regarding our website compatibility issue with IE9. Because IE9 is a brand new browser, we will gradually work out the bugs within IE9 in the coming months. For now, I would recommend using Firefox or Chrome to access our website.

Yeah I am aware of IE's (un)popularity. (^v^) Like I said to Peter above I did try Chrome but didn't really take to it. Guess I could give Firefox a whirl ...

OK thanks Jenny. I'm not wailing (not yet anyway, haha). Just a reminder.

Hi Zhenlijiang,
Thank you for letting us know the problems. I forwarded them to our product manager. I know it has taken a while, but as we have just switched to the store, there are some bigger bugs need fixing now. However, please be assured that the PM will task the team to resolve these bugs.

Hi Peter I know you're all busy, and as you've said you're gradually working out the bugs with IE9. Hope you can get them fixed soon; I'd really like to ask some questions on a lesson and just gave up trying to. #s 2 and 3 above (in fact nothing with the tool bar will work, because the whole text box is unresponsive to anything done with the mouse) are still problems.
Again, the issues are only in the comment-writing box and original posts. The Reply text boxes recognize the mouse fine. 谢谢

Hi Peter thanks for your reply. I did try Chrome actually and have to say I didn't like it, one of the reasons being I disliked the font it put the Chinese writing in. But that's just me.
Anyway I appreciate your attention to this.
