使用流行语就是为了好玩，大家对于一些词语会心照不宣地笑一下。“丁歆觉得，网络语言会让语言异化。“我们会把一些传统词语进行解构，重新放到现在的聊天环境下，本质上来说是污染了汉语原本的语义的，但这可能也是流行文化的意义。”复旦大学中文系教授申小龙认为，网络语言既是一种特殊的语言现象，也是一种社会文化现象，蕴含着丰富的社会文化、情感和心理。网络交际平台为交际者提供了一个较为宽松、便于自由创造的语域。
