In the 80's a Japanese magazine publisher imported it to Japan, increased the difficulty of the game, and of course gave it a Japanese name: ``sudoku." Later the game got popular in Japan and the United States.
No wonder! I've also heard that Chaplin's late-period movie ``A Countess from Hong Kong," was dreamed up when he was traveling in the East. I believe most Chinese people are extremely familiar with Chaplin's movies. When I went to Switzerland, I made a special trip to his old residence. Really, whenever I think of him I think of the humor of the silent movies of those times.
