néng xiǎngchū zhèxiē diǎnzi lái de rén xīn gāi yǒu duō hěn a 。cóngtóudàojiǎo de xíngjù dōu gěi fāmíng chūlái le 。

For someone to come up with ideas like these, they'd have to be really cruel. They've invented torture devices for every part of the body, from head to toe!

āiyā ，kàn le zhèxiē xíngjù wǒ hànmáo dōu shù qǐlái le ，tài cánrěn ，tài xuèxīng le 。

Whoa! Looking at these instruments of torture makes my hair stand on end. They're so cruel and bloody!

古代的刑罚是相当发达的。我们今天看到的刑具只是其中一小部分。像“五马分尸”“千刀万剐”“宫刑”这类酷刑更是惨无人道，骇人听闻。

gǔdài de xíngfá shì xiāngdāng fādá de 。wǒmen jīntiān kàndào de xíngjù zhǐshì qízhōng yì xiǎo bùfen 。xiàng “wǔmǎfēnshī ”“qiāndāowànguǎ ”“gōngxíng ”zhèlèi kùxíng gèng shì cǎnwúréndào ，hàiréntīngwén 。

Punishments in antiquity were very advanced. The torture devices we've seen today are a few of them. Punishments like being drawn and quartered, being hacked apart by knives or castration were even more appalling and brutal.
