What's the meaning of this? A variable day?

I think it's one of those things that just has to come with experience. I see the diagram, and the things it specifies, but without the examples from experience, it's as clear as mud to me. I will keep practising, and keep that diagram in mind when I encounter them in the future.

For example, there's no way the diagram would have helped me to know that the ability to grow a beard should use 出! To send out a beard! How strange.

Wú means "not", I've just been told suǒwèi means "so-called". It's just one of those weird phrases that makes no sense, I guess :)
