Hooray! Sarah! *fanboy*

There seems to be something of an exodus recently! Did Hank cancel the office donuts? John's jokes finally get too bad to cope with? Connie let her temper boil over and offend everyone with her terrible language and violence? (only joking Connie) :-)

In using 担心 (dānxīn), how do you identify the object of what you are worried about? For example if I wanted to say to someone, I am worried about you, do I just say 我担心你 (wǒ dānxīn nǐ), or is that "I worry you"? 我给你担心? (wǒ gěi nǐ dānxīn)?

我觉得这个"行文"是一个最好的教训...

Nice, simple, useful. Just the way it should be. I even understood most of the examples for once!

Then I guess the problem has resolved itself! Thanks Lujiaojie.

Ok, I've read up on predicates now. It's the part of the sentence that refers to the subject's action etc. Simpler than I thought. Phew!

You're talking about the structure of the form 留不出, I understand now! I wasn't really querying that, more the use of the word 出 in the sense "to be able". I could never have guessed that (choosing from the options I was aware of - 可以, 会,and 能), it's just a quirk of grammar in this sense I suppose, since it's specific to growing?

Thanks again, I will check out the lesson you reference.

Perhaps it could be removed from the database then :)

If I needed any proof that me and grammar don't mix, this post would be it.

I'm incredibly grateful that you've taken the time to write this complex post to help me, but I'm really sorry to say I barely understand a single word of it... predicated verb... structural particle.... affirmative form,.. uhhhhh????

Ugh, I feel so dumb. Let me look these up tomorrow and have another go at this.

我们 = we / us = Not everyone's included, just those the speaker intended to be with.

咱们 = we / us = Everyone's included, including the listener(s).

(note: this answer from Yahoo Answers... I'm ashamed to say ;) ).

I thought 咱们 was just more informal?
