June 8, 2010 at 12:02 PMAric seemed like an interesting guy. I looked on his site that jamestheron linked, and it says that he was "asked to leave" Shanghai. Anyone know what's behind that?

June 8, 2010 at 11:49 AMInteresting how this was only 2 years ago, but now I'd say that electronic flashcards are almost the norm now...
Does anyone still use paper flashcards? I'd be a little lost without the ipod version I use...

June 7, 2010 at 3:58 PMThe expansion has the following:
他们俩像双胞胎
tāmen liǎxiàng shuāngbāotāi
(They are like twins.)
I've not seen 俩 used for two before - when is this form of 两 used?

June 8, 2010 at 8:10 PMI'm confused again. It's easy to do.
I listened to the Qing Wen on should/could etc recently, and I thought I understood it. But this lesson has the following in the expansion sentences:
人不能太骄傲。应该谦虚一点。
rén bù něng jiào ào. yīng gāi qiān xū yī diǎn.
First sentence has 不能 which is "can't", 2nd sentence has "应该" which is "should". But the translation is "People shouldn't be so proud--it's better to be a little more modest."
Because I'm bad at this, I would have written it as 人不应该骄傲。更好谦虚一点。Is that wrong?
