March 22, 2009 at 10:00 PMwhen i used to practice Kung Fu, we referred to our instructors as Sifu...anyone know why? the H was clearly dropped..so is that cantonese for Shifu? or just a way its said in a different part of China?
note: another good example of 多久is used in an older cpod lesson called "Travel Itinerary"

呵呵！
but i think that is important in establishing a well rounded view of the language...you must understand the culture even if parts of it arent that pretty...i'm sure there are plenty of things the Chinese find offensive about western culture!

is there any possiblities of having someone like Madeleine host a new cultural show in the near future??
I really miss these weekly cultural insights....
