I just listened to a previous intermediate lesson, which used 寝室 (qǐnshì) instead of 宿舍 (sùshè) for "dormitory." Are these interchangeable?

Connie speaks English?!?!?! Totally caught me off guard (I didn't read the intro first). It's like one of those movies where the character who "can't talk" suddenly says something profound at the very end and blows everyone away. Is this the dawning of a new era?

It seems like it could go either way in this context, although the difference here would be of little consequence. In other contexts, however, it seems like it would be more important to differentiate between the two; e.g. "I made him jump off the roof," vs. "I let him jump off the roof." Do you just use a different word or something? Maybe I'm reading too much into it... Be patient with me; I'm new to this whole "Intermediate" thing. :)

BTW, the dialogue cracks me up. It sounded so real. Where did you find those guys?

In the first few lines of dialogue, 让 (ràng) seems to switch back and forth between "let" and "make." How do you tell the difference (without going to CPod and rolling over the characters)?

I would also be interested in knowing the difference between "talking to...", "talking about...", etc. as MikeinEwshot mentioned earlier. Any takers?
