"Just pay attention to patterns and it will come naturally with time." When's it gonna be my time, John, when's it gonna be my time......

malaoshi: I wasn't even able to access the site last night, so I'm pretty sure they were having some glitches. The "kan die" picture is supposed to go with the DVD Ploy lesson.

Wait, should that be "我不懂了"?

Question: In the dialogue, when B asks A "为什么不买?", his response begins with "你想...". 我不懂。

user16369: The Grammar Guide is a bit like Haley's Comet -- it only shows up for a brief period of time every 70 years or so. Actually, it's apparently still in development. It's actually been launched twice (which is why you still hear about it so much), but it keeps getting pulled because of technical issues or something. Hopefully the third time's a charm.

I attended the Chinese New Year festivities at the local university last Sunday. 真厉害!I had no idea there were that many 中国人 in that little town. While I was there, I ran into my Chinese friends who had just returned after a month-long visit to Chengdu. We went to the dinner together afterwards, where I was coerced into speaking Chinese with random strangers (so far, I've been *very* shy about all this, so that was a major step for me). I also saw most of the Chinese people from work, who apparently left their mild-mannered, English-speaking alter-egos at home. Seriously. I was convinced those people were all introverts...until I saw them in a room together with food. Anyway, it was a great night, and I'll probably end up getting involved with the Chinese Students Association (or whatever it's called) as a result of it all. I'm totally stoked. :)

More singing! Is Jenny working on a new album? Thanks for talking about 了, by the way. You can never have too many examples for that little particle.

This is the second time I've heard Jenny spontaneously break into song lately. I'm picturing a little mini-fridge in the recording studio, stocked with 啤酒 or something.
