Wow! Fooled me. I guess what you meant to write was that the male character (with the Chinese surname Chen) named Nick had the role voiced by a non-native speaker in both the lesson and the dialog only recording, but if one listens to the female voice reading NIck's lines in the line-by-line playback one is hearing a native speaker. Actually I think the line by line playback is always a different voice from that of the voice actor in all lessons, but I am really impressed by the pronunciation of your non-native speaker.

March 27, 2020 at 10:54 AMMaybe it's a deficiency in my education, but it took me a while to figure out that Sb was somebody and Sth was something. I guess it is a standard though, as I have seen it in places other than CPod, such as Pleco, I think.

February 8, 2020 at 12:36 PMSince someone has gone to the trouble of creating all those subtitles (or writing a script for the presenters to follow) why doesn't the downloadable lesson transcript have this? Instead the "Lesson PDF" is a relatively small (though useful) set of sample sentences. I understand that by convention ChinesePod only shows the dialog and not the "banter" of the presenters surrounding it, but since in this case you have already got the whole thing written out, why not share it?
Also, I think most users would like the ability to toggle the English on or off (and maybe pinyin for the lower levels).

April 17, 2020 at 6:29 PMI would strongly agree that the more speakers you can hear reciting the same sentence the better. I used to often go through the sentence by sentence audio replay. Repetition and practice are so important, as you said. I would suggest that students try to mimic the more "dramatic" renditions in cases where you have a very well acted vignette but the audio recap is a bit bland.
Separately, it would probably not be appropriate at the intermediate level, but at higher levels you might even make use of some speakers with distinct regional accents. Of course, you will probably get complaints about it, but if you mention it first in the lesson description as you did here in this lesson, or make it explicitly a lesson about "listening to regional accents" it might be some good value.
