September 20, 2008 at 9:15 PMwell, i was thinking that CPOD could do a lesson on Boston itself, as part of the "City Series"...doesn't have to be focused on the marathon...there's other historical stuff that would be interesting in Chinese...the Boston Tea Party, the prominent authors from there (ie: Louisa May Alcott "Little Women"), the civil war sites, the Red Sox and the legendary Fenway Park...etc...

September 20, 2008 at 3:48 AMthanks bababardwan !
hi pretzellogic...my longest training run for that 24 hour race was only 3 hours...but my weekly mileage was quite high leading up to the event...plus I had won a few 6 hour events in the months leading up to it...
ultra training is not much different from regular marathon or half marathon training...but the race pace is quite slower...
good luck at the BAA Half...I have run the Boston Marathon several times...it's a great City...hope CPOD does a lesson on it...

September 20, 2008 at 3:15 AMThere's some Chinese characters that appear in this Ayi Youtube video:

Can you find them ? Translate them if you can avoid being distracted !
These are North American Ayi's. Are the same services available in China ?

September 18, 2008 at 4:59 AMI just won the Canadian 24 Hour Championship race in Ottawa this past weekend. I ran 212 km and broke the record for Men age 50 - 54.
How do you say "I broke the record" in Chinese ?
Thanks !

September 11, 2008 at 4:13 AMThanks for another useful lesson.
Here's a grammar question:
Why does the tone for "shang" change to a neutral tone in the following:
手机不在桌子上
Isn't it normally a 4th tone ?

August 31, 2008 at 3:25 AMYes...I have already made the "possessive" mistake.
When I was riding on the subway, I said to my Chinese friend: "Zhe shi wo de ditie zhan" (This is my subway station stop).
She laughed and asked me if I really owned the subway station.
So, what is the correct way of saying this ?

July 12, 2008 at 11:40 PMI agree, if any comments should be censored, all those posts by Dave the Hulk should be deleted. Although he references the lesson, his comments don't contribute to language learning or this lesson at all.
I'm a little peeved about having my innocent comment deleted.
If you adopt this policy of deleting non-relevant comments...you can go back to every lesson in CPOD and wipe clean about 90% of the posts.

July 3, 2008 at 4:11 AMOK Clay,
You have a deal !
I can't slurp coffee like you, but my language skills are probably on par !
Plus I'm Canadian, Amber will appreciate that.

September 21, 2008 at 2:05 AMSince we have the spam-bot, I might as well practice some of the Qing Wen vocab:
wo conglai mei jian guo lucy520
wo conglai mei kan guo lucy520 de boke
wo conglai bu yuehui zhe zhong de nuren
Are these correct ?
