Thanks for explaining the situation. However, after removing the offending comments then leaving your post reminding people of the comments policy, it gave the wrong impression that you found the undeleted posts offensive.

September 5, 2009 at 11:40 AMIncreasing number of immigrants are coming to Canada from China. I've met quite a few of them. There are those learning the English language by just the immersion way - simply picking up the language from the day to day talk, and there are those who study the language formally (you'll see them lugging the English grammar book every where they go). Their language skills are clearly differentiated in their resumes and job interviews....
Of course the reverse story is different for Westerners living in China. They don't need to write grammatically correct Chinese sentences in their jobs.

August 26, 2009 at 8:08 AMXiaophil, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for this pdf to be corrected. It's in the queue line well behind the pdf of Funny Business II which till today still translates "小赵,你来公司有几个月了" as "Xiao Zhao, you've been at the company for a few weeks" despite two assurances from Cpod staff that the pdf has been corrected. No EMS on pdfs.. just take it as a loss.

August 23, 2009 at 12:49 PMObviously I don't understand the Chinese custom of burning paper money when sending off relatives to the never never land. But isn't money the root of all evil? Aren't the deservedly people reincarnating in the land of total enlightenment have everything they need served to them? And maybe we all should 践行饯行 (practice farewell) now and blow away all the real money.

August 21, 2009 at 10:55 AMHi Pete,
多谢你的解释... and I find it quite amusing that the Chinese language can find relationship between sperm and detergent.

September 15, 2009 at 3:56 AMMatt,
I just don't understand your logic. When you delete a post, it is gone! Unless we've seen the posts prior to your deletions, we don't know what has gone on. When you post "Please read the comments policy below" we are curious and we read the posts prior to this "reminder post" to see why those posts are unacceptable to you. We don't know that you've deleted posts. Now, if you say that each time you post "Please read the comments policy below" it indicates that you have deleted posts, that is imo quite a strange procedure (which causes misunderstandings) to tell everyone to read the comments policy instead of just the offender.
