Between : those who are good enough to give explanations and, those whose level is definitely NOT good enough but can't resist giving explanations, it really becomes tricky to sort out the good from the bad in these discussions.

Changye, Such a statement in front just of your Chinese poems will do it: I wrote this post only to improve MY Chinese writing skills You will spend your time better if you skip reading it

First of all, please excuse my English which is not my native language, as you may have noticed from my (real) name. Better if I make my point crystal clear than stopping in the middle of the road in defending my case. So here are my points rephrased somewhat : A. Time is in limited quantity, right ? B. In that limited period of time, learners are better off reading "certain to be correct" Chinese than "likely to be incorrect" Chinese, right ? C. Publishing a post is an invitation to read that post. Otherwise, why publish ? D.Writing without publishing is enough to improve one's writting skills. E. A+B+C+D imply that an intermediate learner who posts a long comment in Chinese in fact invites other learners to misuse their time reading "likely to be incorrect Chinese" rather than "certain to be correct" Chinese. Having said that : 1.Those who write randomly one or two sentences in Chinese are welcome (I mean by me) 2.I respect freedom of expression 3.I must admit, although reluctantly, that Lantian posts are very funny. Sorry, I meant rather funny !

If "Changye's written Chinese is better than NUMEROUS native Chinese people" (dixit Man2Toe) , why is he following newbie lessons on Chinesepod ? @Lantian, thanks to you I discovered a new word. However, I don't feel like I am trolling, rather expressing the view of the silent majority.

I just skip users' comments in Chinese characters What's the point of reading Changye's "poems" if they include mistakes ? I prefer to read lessons, newspapers, whatever source has been written by native Chinese speakers.

to follow up on riceater comment, "impressed" can mean "embarrassed" for lots of learners who may feel like this is not a place for them to ask basic questions. I think comments should be interesting for the vast majority, not for a happy few.
