看看一下现在中国少年在干嘛呢？ 溜冰，抽k粉，白粉（赶着龙）等等，甚至我去酒吧一进门就马上一个毒贩子要马上在我旁出现而问我要不要买。

April 21, 2009 at 10:12 AM关于你们酒鬼哥们讲到最喜欢的酒类，我还是觉得朗姆酒了不起，而朗姆酒的类型很多，其中的一个牌子是那么好喝连现在想起让我流口水，那个牌子就是bundaberg，喝它最好就加些冰块儿。
两年前来中国的那个时候我也经常买盗版dvd，质量简直垃圾东西，不值得甚至令我感到被骗的感觉，随后在网络发现了有些很好可下载影片的网站而每天搜索想看看的。从那个时候到目前我差不多每天下载一部。
酒吧去了，跟我bogan哥们一起玩，落熊，咋子落熊？

cheers mate, so i guess a 人贩子is a person that indulges in 拐卖, a new word for me. yes, sad but true. there are thousands of families still looking for their children who have been abducted and sold, not only toddlers, but also teenage girls sold as wives. seen the movie 盲山？(set in sichuan)
the current rate for a bouncing male toddler is around 1万快钱, and somewhat less for a female. a wife on the other hand will set you back far less, about half the price of a male toddler.
these figures haven't been plucked from my a#$%, but have been garnered from those in the know.
贵州、云南and四川 are particularly good hunting grounds for those mongrels peddling wives and children to the east. however i read a recent article describing how in 广东and广西and even 越南 are becoming more popular for human traffickers in china.

in sichuan provence and in taiwan it is more common to use 往wang3 instead of 向xiang4，(must be a shanghai thing or i just don't get around china that much)
eg，前面的路口（往）右转，（往）左转。
(电梯)往下，(电梯)往上。往下往上？
also in sichuan （四川话） 拐guai3 is very 地道。
(往)右拐，(往)左拐。
i've put the directional vocab in brackets because it is often omitted.
@pete, my taiwanese mate living in shanghai had a good giggle when explaining to me the usage of 大转、小转 in a cab in shanghai last week。i was giving directions to the cabbie who was looking at me very confused because i've become accustomed to using 拐。

get into bed can be said a couplke of ways as far as i know.
firstly there is simply 睡觉， 我去睡觉，晚安。
or there is this 上床， 上床睡觉。 however,上床used by itself without adding 睡觉 is often referred to bed sports. 我跟他在一起快2个月了，我们却还没上床。
i have a sneaky suspicion you already know this.
by the way,床上用品 is more commonly known and advertised as 成人用品。i've never heard of blankets and so forth being described as 床上用品。被褥bei4ru4 bedding and bed clothes would be safer to use lest the male salesman gets the wrong idea.

i don't think my chinese is of a high level. my reading is better than my spoken or written，不过，再过了两年再说。
毫无。。。。。的余地。 hao2wu2.。。。yu2di4. there is no room for/impossible to.
in the sentence i used it translates as there is no room to stealthily use the other person.
毫（无、不）used in the negative; the least, at all
余地 leeway/room/latitude. 还有改进的余地 there is still room for improvement. 在这方面我们给他留有相当的余地 in this regard we give him considerable latitude.
other examples:
毫无改变的余地 no room for change.(无法改变）
毫无反对的余地 there is no way to oppose.（无法反对）
毫无补救的余地 there is no way to mend/save/remedy （无法补救）
cheers for the encouragement! i dread having to lay bricks again. i live at boyne island, about 20k south of gladstone, population 8000. moved here from mandurah WA 8 years ago. it's separated from the mainland by the boyne river and south trees inlet.

i just left a few days ago to come back home and do some maintenance and renos on the house. should only take a couple of months. might head up to the rocky uni and ask around for a language partner and report back on the results ;-p

I'm a tim winton fan myself, having spent a lot of years in mandurah south of perth i can relate to his descriptions of coastal life and suburbia in wa. my favourite 'cloud street', however i've enjoyed all the books i've read of his.
sydney harbour hey! must be a fantastic view. only ever travelled through sydney.
it's a little like sea change here, much like mandurah was when i first moved there. i look out my front windows every morning to be greeted by the ebbing and flowing boyne river. the beach is a short walk along the river to the east and the local 14 hole golf course a casual stroll along the river to the south.
the town has been hit hard recently by the layoffs at rio-tinto's refinery at yarwun and more layoffs are expected. when i left for chengdu almost two years ago the town was booming. hopefully, for the sake of many families in the area, things will pick up later this year.
strange thing is i never thought i'd miss a city with 13million people living in it.
it's either flatout or stop for me.
