@regau, bodawei

look up the individual characters and you'll get it. while the 'hello' greeting is a chinese word play on english, chanelle's great contributions are wordplays in chinese character tones, different tone but pinyin is the same.  clue:

蓝; 懒or烂or褴 all work well with grass

哈陋 ha1lou4 is the one i don't like. its a play on hello, listen and watch out for this one, usually said by young cheeky boys, and not so young cheeky men.

it can translate to a few meanings, all not so flattering.

@pete

@joncui

the mandarin only in the above comments was brought about by the first comment which was rather in your face and 'how's your mum'. it was written by a native chinese in response to the photograph of an opium den.

i apologise. normally i obey the rules on newbie and ele discussion boards, but felt the need to respond. pete doesn't need anyone to stick up for him, he does a great job himself. just putting in my two bobs worth.

if you want any of my comments above translated to english with added pinyin i suppose i could do that for you. that said, i'm sure there are grammar errors and such.

@jevious

nah mate, it's  not mine, mine is better, looking and faster, tossing up whether to sell it or not. i'd hate to invest my money in china and then lose it all because of my big mouth, i just can't keep it shut. we take a lot of freedoms for granted in the west, however some of those freedoms have been eroding of late.

yeah i've done that trip many times before too. used to live in darwin and travel between there and brisbane playing the football seasons. my old man still lives up there near humpty doo. you would have done the trip on the old dirt road when it really deserved it's name of 'the track'. once, when i was 17, in the old HK wagon i went from barkley homestead to mt isa without fuel at camooweal, it was shut. had to sit on 40-60ks an hour for the last 100 or so ks just so i could make it. i was going that slow the roos were laughing at me and taunting me.

bundy and milk! well, every anzac day back when i was soldiering we young diggers used to accompany some of the old diggers  before the dawn parade and service and have a few bundy and coffees.

there is a huge market in chengdu and chongqing as well. captain morgan just completed a huge marketing campaign in the south-west(know the young american guy who got paid to dress up as captain morgan and get pissed every nite for a month for 25000rmb). may contact bundaberg and see what they think, there is no bundy products anywhere in the south-west.
