December 31, 2007 at 11:11 AMHappy New Year everyone! In the Sicilian town Sciacca they wack each other on the head with plastic bats every year during the celebration of the carnival in February. As far as I remember one year it was suggested to ban the use of the bats because it tended to get out of hand but I never saw anything other than good fun when I was there. I would definitely recommend Amber trying it on Clay. ;-)

December 31, 2007 at 10:19 AMBob, you're having that problem too? It's strange how people will start sighing and rolling their eyes whenever I suggest going to the library or a bookstore. :-)

December 28, 2007 at 12:12 PMAmber, thanks for the info! I'm so used to checking out an unlimited amount of books, cd's and dvd's for free from the library here that going unprepared to a library in China would be a big culture shock. I also used the link to find out my Chinese Zodiac sign and while I'm a dragon my boyfriend is a rat (hmm, that doesn't sound very good just when you say it, does it?) and they're a perfect match for dragons!

December 22, 2007 at 2:31 PMAmber, being a bookworm myself, I would love to hear more about Chinese libraries and how they work.

December 20, 2007 at 1:59 PMHave I mentioned how much I like all the little changes you've made to improve MM. The little pling sound before the sound clips is very nice and it's great to get a transcript of the dialogue once the winner has been found.
Posted on: Tennis Anyone?
December 20, 2007 at 10:16 AMJenny, I fully understand your passion for tennis. I love to watch it as well, and especially the male players, so this has been a very pleasant lesson for me. :-) My guess is Federer would like to participate in the Olympics but if he manages to take the trophy in the French Open I have the feeling that getting a Grand Slam may be more important to him, especially as he has more or less declared that he would like to conclude his career with the London Olympics.
