December 4, 2007 at 2:47 PMI had an interesting conversation about family members with a chinese girl recently. Among other things she told me how she and her cousin refer to each other as jiejie and meimei because they both are only children.

December 12, 2007 at 10:58 AMYou offer, I ask! I know how to say Denmark 丹麦 and Copenhagen 哥本哈根 but Copenhagen is only where I live. I actually grew up on a farm near a town so small that even most Danes don't know of it so I won't ask you about the name of that. What I would like to know are the names for the three major parts of Denmark: Jutland/Jylland (which is where I'm from), Funen/Fyn and Zealand/Sjælland.
