Well, if the movie is what I think it is, the female character does display some temperament at one point....

I got it right! And made a guess! As usual I didn't understand much of the Chinese but putting seatbelt and alien together I knew the answer right away. Ah, Bazza, I know what you mean about never winning anything when it comes down to luck :-)

Even listening carefully to this dialogue I have a hard time hearing the zh-sound, I keep hearing zhen as chen, especially when Jenny is speaking. This is not meant as a critizism, I'm just wondering if it's me, or if the two sounds have a tendency to be more similar in normal speech, or it's a regional variant. I have no trouble hearing the differency when using the pronunciation chart.

谢谢!I have begun to exercise handwritting a bit but what I'm doing right now is copying the expansion sentences by typing them myself, not just doing copy & paste. This way I remember the hanzi much better.

Thanks Rich! After about a month here I'm trying to generate my own sentences whenever I can and it's nice to have someone to help me.

Is this sentence correct: 我弟弟的狗很不乖 I took him for a walk earlier today and he was not being a good boy.... The dog, that is :-)

How are the different words for brothers and sisters used? In the expansion section one sentence goes like this: 我的兄弟叫.... In this way you don't specify whether it's an older or younger brother but I had the impression that it's prefered to talk about either your 哥哥 or 弟弟?

ARGHHHH. I should've guessed then. Being a newbie I didn't really understand anything except for one word so even though all the food clues made me think of this movie I didn't feel sure enough to venture a guess. And the one word I actually understood: pingguo pie! I don't know how, I've never heard the word spoken before, only read it in a grammar book once. But boy, it makes you proud when things like that happens...

Yes, the guys being very wicked right now ;-) And I can't really imagine cat meat being good. Most predators' meat isn't worth eating but I guess it depends on the seasoning....

我喜欢猫!And ChinesePod.... One of most important things in learning is motivation and nothing gets us crazy cat ladies going more than being able to talk about our beloved animals ;-)
