When you talk about members of your family you can omit 的.

Just to confuse everybody more I'm saw House of Flying Daggers two nights ago, again, and I remember the following scene because it was one I was actually able to understand. Jin has collected flowers for Xiao Mei and put the most beautiful one in her hair and she ask him (I'm citing from memory, it may not be completely correct...):我好看吗? and he responds 花儿好看。

Actually, some people think German is a good language for writting poetry... I for one love the sound of German poems and I know I'm not alone. It will be fun to explore Chinese poetry one day but I imagine it's difficult for a non-native speaker exactly because of all the homophones.

What a great idea to have Henning and his wife on the show! 'Dear Amber' just keeps getting better and better even though it's not nice to be told that you're old at 30... ;-)

I think there'll be plenty of oppotunities for including ninjas. If the jealousy gets going who knows what will happen. And who knows, maybe Wáng Wěi is such a bookworm and not really interested in women because he's really an alien....

Oh, I sense a big drama ahead of us. Will Wáng Wěi reveal that he considers Yáng Jié to be very silly girl or does he secretly like her? Is Lǐ Yàn with Wáng Wěi because she knows he'll be a future leader and a rich man? What will happen between her and Yáng Jié if she begins to feel threathened? We're waiting for the next episode! I'm would like to know more about the same thing as Mikeinjubie. How do you connect verbs and sentences? I learned early on that 和 is only for connecting nouns and I really miss that little word 'and'. Maybe a future Qing Wen?

For the last eight years I've had a phone number with three eights in it but I'm still not rich... Do you think I have to go China for it to work? ;-)

Yes, Jenny but if they sleep as little as you and the rest of Cpod seem to do, they'll have the time to learn... Now go to bed, you'll worry AZERDocMom and we can't have that, can we. ;-)

Posted on: How do you take your coffee?

Aah, coffee. What would we do without it in the morning? Having lived in Italy I always make latte in the morning, lots of hot milk with an espresso shot and some sugar. The Italians like to eat cookies with it and that's their breakfast but I need something more substantial... What exactly do you get when you order 咖啡 in China? The concept of coffee varies from country to country and asking for coffee in Italy is going to get you something different from what you get in Denmark or the US.
