April 22, 2011 at 8:33 AM司徒雷登是中国共产党和国民党内战结束后美国留在中国的最后一位外交官，毛泽东写了一篇文章叫《别了，司徒雷登》，司徒雷登返回美国，代表美国的对华政策失败了。
这篇文章最后这句“别了，司徒雷登；别了，骆家辉”有点儿开玩笑的意思，感觉就是：不管谁做外交官，情况都是挺复杂的。

You can say:
你必须来。but not 你必需来。
这些都是必需品。but not 这些都是必须品。
须要 is an auxiliary verb, 须要的意思是“一定要”。
须要+abstract thing We can say: 我需要一杯水，but not 我须要一杯水。
“成功需要努力。” and “成功须要努力。” are both OK.
