In this sort of language power struggle, I'm playing with an advantage : the accent.

I just throw away few sentences with a very strong french accent, say 对不起 我的英语发音不是很标准 and we then simply stick to chinese.

PS: It may also work well if you can imitate the inconprehensible accent (and slangs) of the australian surfers.

Sorry for the digression about Chinglish (I'm not even sure if it's really a Chinglish expression here). But be aware that in south-east Asia a girl could be asked to "bring her frog with her to go to the pool" (which sounds quite offensive if you think they're speaking about your boyfriend).

In fact, a frog is a one-piece swimsuit ! This word may originate from a misuse of "frogman".

Eunica,

The chinese for the Shanghai Elevated freeway is 上海高架 (contraction of 上海市高架道路) with 高架 (gao1jia4).

Most of this 上海市高架道路 is an expressway around Puxi

Alishan, You may not be used to ethnic diversity but it's what makes part of the charm of big cities like Paris, London or New-York. It's not always beautiful, it's not always safe but this small replicas of the world are full of energy and creativity.

Here is another version of the same joke in which the panda wants to sleep even if, as a panda, he's actually sleeping all the day long.

Rich, I may have the explanation for the relation between plastique bag and shower. It could be related to the 淋浴时用的塑胶浴帽 (the plastic shower cap). The 浴帽 (shower/bathe cap) could be used by chinese man or woman to keep their hair dry during the shower.

I like to share here the chinese name of a famous item manufactured in China but unused in China.

The whoopee cushion (coussin péteur) is called 放屁坐垫 or 放屁袋 in chinese.

灰色 (dust color) is charcoal grey (anthracite in french)

鼠色 (mouse color) (gris souris in french)

Could Slate grey (gris ardoise) be 板岩色 ?

What about taupe ?
