@philidor

My suggestion would be

吹双簧管 chuī shuānghuángguǎn

blow the oboe - to play the oboe

oboe - 双簧管 shuānghuángguǎn

Connie, is that right?

Cheers

Did you know?

The action of pressing the keys of the piano, both black and white keys, actual "pluck" strings inside the piano to make the music of the piano. 弹钢琴吧!

"Ebony and Ivory.....live together is perfect harmony....side by side on my piano......."

If it was the best shield and spear in the world then both shield and spear would perfectly disperse the forces of the hit amongst themselves and nothing would happen.

Nothing happening is the most profound answer.

But then again, what is the meaning of "the strongest" alot of people would forget that if you have only strength, you may become brittle.  So what is true strength.

Likewise the most sharpest will also have its weakness, if it is not coupled with flexibility.

So in the best spear and best shield conditions nothing would happen.

As well as 自相矛盾 zìxiāngmáodùn if you contradict yourself, nothing much happens, other than delayed self-confusion and the likelihood of not improving on certain situations you are wishing to improve yourself upon.

 But watch out if the best spear and best shield are used together, not against each other, as in this story.

All the best for your studies.

@Bababardwan

A formal way of saying sunglasses is 太阳眼镜 tàiyángyánjìng, literally Sun Glasses

Very often I hear a quicker way of saying Sunglasses, that could be the "sunnies" idea you are after that is 墨镜 mòjìng

墨镜 is faster to say.

墨 mò can use for ink and also used to describe "dark"

Great Lesson!

If you really want to do something well in China always be aware of the person straight away offering you 关系

Real things take planning, timing and perserverance.

Real Guanxi cannot be brought. It takes real committment.

Ken,

This suits very well a Newbie lesson.  An important topic, finding the supermarket, a place highly needed by the majority of people. This lesson  demostrates the simple yet powerful sentence structure that will allow beginners to find whatever they are looking for. By swapping the word "超市" chāoshì with other things your are looking forward eg. 饭店 fàndiàn (hotel) the "Newbie" listener is on the way to discover the whole of the Chinese city in which they may live.

Well Done!
