to mention the christmas rose ( see above).

Christmas rose doesn't belong to the species of roses, but to the species of black hellebore, which  is an evergreen perennial flowering plant,

you see it in Europe at christmas time

mafanni,

我首先也惊讶了 wǒ shǒuxiān yě jīngyà le

I was also surprised in the first place, but I think as this celebration (like a marriage or birthday 等等) is focussed on a person in the sense of honoring this person with the celebration, the 给她(=for her) makes sense。

Somebody of the team could help us with some examples....

Anyway:大家圣诞节快乐!

hi, could you also use 点(diàn) instead of 订 (dìng) in a sentence like 'you can order a steak' i.e. 可以 订/点 这个牛排?  Is 点 and 订 equivalent?

 hi Dilu,hi John,

colourfully  written aspect of life!

退休可以是一种负担,但大多是一种解脱

tuìxiū kěyǐ shì yīzhǒng fùdān, dān dàduō shì yīzhǒng jiětuō

retirement can be a burden,but mostly it's a relief
