why the 了?could we omit the 了?and why not 北京八月份最热的?

清查 qīngchá green tea
绿茶 lü4chá green tea
红茶 hóng chá black tea
普洱茶 pǔ ěr chá from Pu er lake region in Yunnan
花茶 huā chá scented tea

there is in my opinion no clear answer to your question. I think you have to give up a logical "cartesian" approach to Chinese grammar or linguistics. Have a look at Noam Chomsky and his "Syntactic Structures". It might give you an idea. I think we can only learn small sentences by heart, listen to the explanation of the related CP lessons and hope for an subconscious grammatical adaptation in the long run. There is no way to use the step by step translation from indogermanic structures into Chinese. Many students of the Cinese language are doomed to failure while trying hard to apply their native language structure at the 中文。

Are the following terms for "recently" synonymous or are there differences?
这两天(zhèliǎngtiān), 最近(zuìjìn),近来(jìnlái) and 近日(jìnrì). all of them can mean "recently".
