June 19, 2011 at 3:16 AM到底 is a difficult word to find the exact English equivalent for. It means to get to the bottom of things. Often it gets translated into "really" in sentences, 你到底想干什么? /What do you really want to do?/What are you really up to? 真的 in contrast means "really, truly" in the sense of truthfulness. It doesn't have the "get to the bottom of things" meaning, e.g. 我真的很喜欢你。/I really like you very much.
So the usage is very different.

June 19, 2011 at 3:10 AM彩排 means to "rehearse" or "rehearsal" for a performance. It doesn't necessarily have to be on the very stage of your performance. And it can be used as a verb, e.g. 乐队今晚要彩排。

June 19, 2011 at 3:06 AMI think 大男子 and 大男子主义 in Chinese have the connotation that men think women are the weaker gender who need the protection of men and whose duty is to tend to their husbands and children. The Chinese terms aer used more in daily life than the English "male chauvinistic". We use them to describe men who think they are the stronger gender in the relationship and expect their wives to follow what they say.
