I took interpretation courses at university and became an accredited interpreter in Australia and China. I worked as a translator/interpreter for a while before realizing I didn't want to sit in a booth for the rest of my life.

Thanks for the interesting idea! We do have a ton of data and we are building a smart lesson recommendation engine to use it to reduce search cost for users. Speaking of the current glossary, please go to the search box on top right of the lesson page, choose "glossary" in the small drop down menu. Type English or Chinese and you will be able to find expansion sentences which contain these words and be bale to go to the individual lesson. It's not the most user friendly, but a decent resource to check out word usage.

I don't think 我要回家了 is rude. It can mean "I am about to go home (which I planned to do anyway)". The real sentiment comes through more with tone of voice rather than the actual phrase.

上网 is a verb which means to go online or surf the web, e.g. 我喜欢上网。/I like to surf the internet.

网上 is an adjective which means online, e.g. 我喜欢在网上买东西。I like to shop online.

It's 丽江/Lìjiāng in Yunnan. I've always wanted to go there.

I always like the sound of more exotic destinations, e.g. 香格里拉/Xiānggélǐlā, 西双版纳/Xīshuāngbǎnnà.

几乎 means "almost". 几乎从来不 means "almost never" or "rarely". Jukuu.com is pretty interesting. Apparently, they make money through their 作文批改 service which allows users to turn in essays for correction.

善良 shànliáng also means "kind-hearted". But it means kind in the sense of not evil. 爱心 means kind in the sense of caring.
