You can also use 喜欢in the other sentence: '中国喜欢看网球的人多吗?'/Are there many people who are into tennis in China?' It is phrased quite differently than English, but it's the most natural expression in Chinese. changye, I had to google gateball. Let me throw in one more 垒球/lei3 qiu2/softball.
