LostinAsia, 它们 is used for animals and objects, e.g. trees, buildings, whereas 他们 is used for human beings. The 他们 in "一定是他们合成的" refers to the paparazzis. A natural expression in English might be 'they must have altered it'.

死了can also be used in positive context, like 高兴死了/gao1 xing4 si3 le/happy to death, 漂亮死了/piao4 liang si3 le/pretty to death.

fudapeng, 不是钱的问题,而是原则问题。 可以说“赢了拍卖”,不过“拍到了”更自然。 国内的网站好像都把auctioner叫做卖家(seller)。

There is a catch to the free admission/admission-free policy: limited number of visitors. You can make reservations (doesn't sound quite right, but you get what I mean) to make sure you get in.

Kaixi, Yes, 队means team. One of the meanings of 手 is a professional person, someone who is deft at his trade. For example, 水手、一垒手、投手 or 歌手/singer.

Our sound engineer Dave Xu does some really awesome work. I particularly like the blurry talking to oneself sound effect. In the podcast, I said 诚信/cheng2 xin4 is used more for companies and organisations. But on second thought, it is also used for individuals. For example, 讲诚信/ trustworthy, credible.
