I was reading startup guru Guy Kawasaki's book. He did an experiment to see what it would cost to start a business. It came to over USD20,000, and 85% of it was registering variations on his original domain and trademarks.

December 29, 2008 at 2:56 AMI'm a horrendous singer, but thanks to the amazing features of sound systems in karaoke bars in China, I sound ok. These include a very faint original performance in the background to guide the tone deaf like me, and a wide selection of keys to suit almost everyone. They are like plastic surgery for your voice.

December 28, 2008 at 11:13 AMI've been learning about how to get the most value out of using twitter. I signed up a while ago, but didn't think it was 'meaningful' since all I could write was trivial updates. Since then, Praxis and myself have been learning about microblogging and how it can serve our work and users. So far I think Twitter is a good platform for updates about lesson development, useful links and word/phrase of the day. Practical information that users can browse and get value out of. But we do need to dedicate more time and manpower to cultivate our twitter activity.
And your suggestions are very very welcome!

December 26, 2008 at 4:25 PM上海有一个探险家，叫于纯顺。他一个人徒步重走丝绸之路，不幸在沙漠迷路，死了。后来特别多的媒体报导他，上海说他是上海的英雄。其它媒体则说“虽然于纯顺是上海人，但是他更像北方男人。” 上海男人在中国历来是软弱的象征，他是一个异类英雄。他死的时候我还是小学生，但是很被震撼，到现在还记着。
