真的有罗布泊,在新疆。不过,应该不适合旅游吧。昨天看新闻,有一个人登珠穆朗玛峰 (Mount Everest)。他不是专业登山队员,只接受了一个月的魔鬼训练。虽然成功登珠峰,但是下山的时候身体发生严重的问题,去世了。民间探险,虽然勇敢,但更多的是危险。

Songs are one of many great ways to learn a language. But the melody does distort the tones, therefore not a definitive guide to learning. But I do find them to be very effective in familiarising one with the target language and reinforce it.

Henning,

You are correct. 上千块 means 'can reach up to 1000'. But in daily speech, people interpret 上 to mean in the vincinity of 1000. It could be either slightly less or more than 1000. You could also switch 千 with other amounts as long as it is over 100.

@effie612,

I wouldn't say "你懂什么?" is a speech pattern particular to Shanghai. It reflects more attitude than regional speech prefrence. It is definitely a great phrase to use when you want to be dismissive.

@calkins,

Yes, a good word. 温/wen1/warm is used for things that you taste and touch. For example, food, water. Note that you can't use it to describe the climate. Warm as in spring is 温暖/wen2 nuan3.

@tudigong,

弄热 is a very colloquial expression. It sounds a it unnatural too. It is better to use 加热 in the case of to heat up. You can also use 热 as a verb, e.g. 热一下/make it hot to mean the same thing.

@xuchen,

There is not a clear fixed word for 'stereoype'. You can say 偏见的形象/an image based on prejudice or 模式化的形象/ a fixed stereotypical image.
