July 17, 2009 at 2:15 AMThe line of right and wrong has been blurred in China. You will be amazed to know how many people will jump at the opportunity that Lao Wang has.
@Raygo,
I think any kind of company would be relieved to get to a state where making money is not an issue (within legal means of course). ChinesePod is a company that very much strives to survive and continue to push the boundary of learning.

July 16, 2009 at 9:21 AMDear Poddies,
Has the 'Pinyin Program' been helpful? I must say this is a new approach for me. Learning pinyin as a kid in China is predominatly through memorising each sound. But that will probably make things even more confusing and challenging for adult learners. The Pinyin Program and the Pinyin Chart are a much more systematic and linguistically sound approach. I am extremely interested in hearing your thoughts on them.

July 16, 2009 at 1:32 AM@quasifrog and all Poddies,
We have gone through an AMS (academic management system) upgrade last night. It has led to some glitches in today's vocabulary and expansion sections. We are on the case now. Sincere apologies for the inconvenience. They will be put right very shortly. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Technically speaking, 泳 is a noun, but it's hardly ever used by itself to mean 'a swim'. We use 游泳。

July 10, 2009 at 8:24 AMI had the typical Chinese childhood. Latch key kid and had to lock myself at home after school to do homework and stay away from potential danger. As harsh it might be, growing up and going to school in China does give you good discipline.
