A Co-Worker from inner mongolia recently claimed that his Shanghainese wife can sometimes understand complete Japanese sentences although she never learned the language (the setting: they watch Japanese movies with Chinese subtitles in their home in the black forest - that's globalization).
I wonder if the Shanghainese CPod-members made similar observations.

I still wonder though whether there is a connection between the name and the area/language.

May 1, 2010 at 8:20 AM型, 性, and 式 seem to be really close in meaning. I especially confuse 型 and 性 because of the similar sound. Any tips on when to use what?

oh yes, way better! Simple rules, but watch them unfold. We played it through nights as teenagers. We even built add-on-boards with new courses.
Here is another game I loved,: Intrige. Too bad it is not sold anymore.
The vendor in the board game shop promised a family crisis each time you play it - and what can I say? He was 100% right. The ideal tool to tank Christmas. It was really cool.

"Ausländer" = foreigner is a (neutral) category that is for example used in offical documents or for the "Ausländerbehörde", but it is not applied when refering to other people or even for openly addressing (of course that only is valid for a "polite society" as a1pi2 called it).
