在"汽车消费"的课我学到"潇洒"这个单词 (一辆潇洒的车)。

可以用"潇洒"来形容一位特别火辣特别性感的女人吗?

Pele, penben,

Google for "Google Pinyin". Afterwards you will never touch MS Pinyin again.

:)

rrandy,

That is certainly the wrong way:

When learning a language, you listen and repeat.  listen and repeat.  listen and repeat.  You dont always need to question why.  If they say it a certain way, emulate them, dont interrogate them.

Only by actively analyzing and thinking, long-term retention and in-depth understanding will be build up.

There is no, absolutely no domain of knowledge where asking for reasons can be possibly wrong.

On top of that: Questions not only bring the one ahead who asks them, but also the ones who answer + everybody following the question.

And as stated above: the 家-question is more than valid.

@tiphazard,

I started when I was about Elementry level (which was before CPod), because I noticed that I didn't make any real headway without. It really helps, not only to open up the door to written material, but also to enforce vocab distinction, grouping, and retention.

If I started again, I would begin learning Hanzi right away, although in a relaxed fashion. I am convinced that it becomes crucial when trying to cross that boundary between Elementry and Intermedaite.

Much better indeed. Thanks for the quick response.

Contentwise, the show was brilliant as ever.

Maybe it is only me, but here the audio quality of that 8 MB "CD Quality" file was way below the usual standard (I compared with several older QWs). Although the parameters were identical (128 KBit Mono).

Anyone else had that impression or is it just in my head?

light, changye, actually that is an interesting question. I would add that 走 emphasizes more the origin (and leaving it) while 去 hints more at the destination 走哪去了? Left where to?

Hi changye, problem might be a cultural one and therefore utterly intranslatable. Being "seductive" appears to be a pretty positive trait to me. This is similar to 性感, which is also negative in Chinese, whereas being "sexy" is something desirable in many modern western societies.

The lesson is now pure Newbie, most traces of the Confucius lessons have been weeded out. Except for the tags.
