This one goes to all the etymologists out there: I know the evil meaning of 王八. But what is it origin? Is there (as so often in Chinese) a story behind that?

Perfect lesson, highly educational. The 关你屁事 reminded me of another sentence I often overheard: 你知道个屁 (what do you know). I was asked not to use it, though.

smithy. maybe I am wrong, but I always considered 青 (qīng) as a kind of joker-color, fine for everything light, indefinite. Sometimes (mostly) it is light green, sometimes it is light green shifting into turquoise, sometimes I even heard light grey walls being called to be of the color 青 (qīng) ...

去年我买了一个3G Smartphone。什么功能都有。 不可思议的, 真实棒极了。 不幸的是什么功能都没好用的， 一点用户友好也没有. 还有不好看，超重, 易碎的, 上网又麻烦又慢， 等等。 已经坏了。 。 没关系。 什么功能都有。

In Berlin there is a 20 year old tradition that left wing radicals start streetfights with the police. I heard it has become a tourist attraction. Besides that: Yep. One day vacation in Germany. Actually most people took a day holiday on Monday, also - a classical "bridging day".

Hi Zuber: I just input the characters using the Windows input method, which needs to be installed and be switched on in the international settings. There is a detailed guide in the help-section of this guide under "Technical questions". Regarding your "can-do"-questions - that took me a while to grasp, too: 会 (huì) expresses whether you are fundamentally able to do something, i.e. have you learned to do something, like "can you speak Chinese" or "can you cook". 能 (néng) expresses that you actually can do something in a given situation considering all given constraints - e.g. "Can you run around naked on the streets?". Of course you 会 but often the 能 is a problem. 可以 (kěyǐ) Are you allowed to do something? In the example above: You 会 but you do not 能 because the evil system says you do not 可以. ;)
