August 2, 2007 at 1:43 PMYes, but you can add it in yourself (I think the translation was given in the last Saturday Show). The user input is the actual cool part, if you ask me. This is how dict.leo.org got so impressive. Soon you will find vocab like "Klingon", "Vogon", "muggle" or "Stuttgart" in there.

August 2, 2007 at 9:40 AMA small suggestion: In my electronic dictionary you can enter the Pinyin without the tones ("zunshou" instead of "zun1shou3") - it hands back all alternatives. This really helps when following a podcast (or news broadcast) and quickly entering what you hear without the need to think about tones.

August 2, 2007 at 9:35 AMGreat! The Glossary is back. It does not seem to have the Advanced vocab incorporated, yet - which is crucial as the Advanced lessons do not come with translations and some vocab isn' t in any alternative dictionary.

August 2, 2007 at 7:42 AMkmk, Bazza, no term for that in German, too. One day in the year of 1997 I crossed a street despite a red light (half asleep) - a group of kindergarteners shouted after me: "Rotgänger - Totgänger"! Rotgänger - Totgänger"!" ("red-waker - death-walker") I liked that a lot.

August 2, 2007 at 6:10 AM红灯停,绿灯行。。。 Several years ago in Beijing I frequently saw disgruntled middle aged men, standing at intersections, waving around coloured flags. I learned that those were traffic violators. They were allowed to drive on only after they caught the next poor traffic violator. Pass on that baton, one generation of violator to the next... Much less predictable than those serious traffic aunties. What a system.
