June 18, 2009 at 2:07 AM"操哪门子心" literally, "What are you worrying about?" Most of the time, it'll go with a “你”，“你操哪门子的心啊？”, it's implying "Mind your own business". This saying is commonly used when someone is poking his/her nose into other's affair, or just gossipping something.

Oh God, this song will haunt me for the whole day, and I'm wondering, if this Qinlin ren look more like human or Qilin?

"搞" is not so impolite as they have told you! It's impolite only when in these saying "乱搞", as Pete quoted above "乱搞男女关系", there are some sayings that can be frequently heard in "新闻联播", the most official and authorized newscast in China, eg. "搞好精神文明建设”，“搞好素质教育”，“切实搞好社区服务”，“帮助农民搞好农业生产”，oh, sooooo many of them! You can say "我是搞教育的", it's much better than "我搞教育", but there is nothing wrong with "我搞教育", more examples, "我是搞IT的”，“我是搞设计的",“我是搞...的”.
Someone may consider it as an impolite word, to some extent, they refer more to the meaning "have sex with".
This is another common saying. "请把那件事搞清楚" Qǐng bǎ nà jiàn shì ∼ qīngchu. Please get a clear understanding of the matter.
