August 21, 2009 at 2:27 AM@dagah, 你说得对!“洗衣液” is liquid detergent, and I don't even notice there are different laundry detergent for different colors. But you can say "白色衣物专用洗衣粉" Báisè yīwù zhuānyòng xǐyīfěn and "彩色衣物专用洗衣粉" cǎisè yīwù zhuānyòng xǐyīfěn

August 21, 2009 at 2:17 AM@xiaophil, thanks! I have a question, do you say "did you have a good day?" And Chinese never say "good day" or "have a good day” in the morning. We sometimes say "今天过得好吗?今天一切顺利吗?" when someone is home from work. "祝你度过快乐的一天", is not so common in colloquial Chinese, but more common in e-mails and letters.

August 20, 2009 at 9:15 AM@xiaophil, “半夜”, can be both midnight and middle of night. And 0:00 is “凌晨”,but it can be also used to say "凌晨一点" Língchén yīdiǎn 1:00am, "凌晨两点" Língchén liǎng diǎn, 2:00am...5:00am.
'Have a good day'? 今天过得好吗?今天一切顺利吗?Jīntiān guò de hǎo ma?jīntiān yīqiè shùnlì ma? I usually say "今天怎么样?" Jīntiān zěnmeyàng?
@"邮件", can be both normal mail and e-mail, but nowadays we use this word as e-mail more frequently. And "normal mail", we'll say “信件” Xìnjiàn

August 20, 2009 at 7:48 AM@vann0000, "了" here is a sign, implying the action is finished. More examples, 他离开了,Tā líkāi le. He has left. 他把苹果吃了。Tā bǎ píngguǒ chī le. The apple was eaten by him.

August 20, 2009 at 5:53 AM@renli3d, "也” is here because there is a context that 中川's father and "斯琴"'s brother have been turned into robots, so "also" is used here.

August 20, 2009 at 3:36 AM@haijing, you can say "餐饮服务", Cānyǐn fúwù. In China, we have this service on transportation like train. But if you want to prepare a party, it's difficult to find such service, even impossible! :-)

August 21, 2009 at 3:00 AM@richnirish, good question!
1)他睡了一个钟头觉,“睡觉” is an intransitive verb, “睡” is a verb and "觉" here is a noun. 【In Chinese, there is a group of verbal-object constructions that are formed by a verbal element and a nominal element]】They can be seperate 睡......觉.
2)他睡觉睡了一个钟头, "睡了一个钟头" is a complement of duration, and “睡觉” is the verb in this sentence. You can also say as culturedragon mentioned above, 他睡了一个钟头.
3)他睡觉一个钟头,it's not correct.【Intransitive verbs cannot take objects, an object cannot directly follow an intransitive verb】
