The pronunciation of "Huānyíng" in the recordings don't seem to be correct.  It sounds more like Huāiyóng than Huānyíng.  I tried to pronounce huāiyóng to a few native speakers and got confused looks then pronounced Huānyíng and got some, "Ah..."s.

Let me know if its just a bad recording or I should be aware of a dialect difference.

I'm getting a good hang of the difference between kěyǐ and Huì, but Néng has been a new word I've been trying to tackle.  What's the difference between Huì and Néng?

If anyone knows another lesson that has a good explanation, let me know.  I'm sure its been talked about.

Was wondering if someone could break down the meaning of wúsuǒwèi. It looks like it was done in June of 2008, but its not pinyinized.

Thanks

Great lesson.  Very useful.  People always love talking about not wanting to go to work or school even if they say they "enjoy it" on a recorded mp3.

Thanks for putting in shàngkè and xiàkè in the supplementals.  It basically doubled the usefulness of the lesson.

I've studied about fifty newbie lessons and I've deduced that Ken must have been sick for a year or so.

Is the last sentence in the expansion: What month are you coming back? spoken correctly?

On varying tones...

Thanks for the varying tone comments for the negating term "bu."  I've thought that "bu" was 2nd tone when proceeding a 4th tone since that seemed consistently demonstrated, but hadn't heard any comments on it yet.

Though I'm not quite sure why a nice looking young lady ready for a fist fight relates to saying, "I don't know."  Perhaps its a visual incentive for me to make sure I understand Chinese...or else.
