In this lesson's expansion, there is a sentence saying:

我在路边捡了一条小狗。
Wǒ zài lùbiān jiǎn le yī tiáo xiǎo gǒu. 
I picked up a puppy from the side of the road.

but in http://chinesepod.com/lessons/making-copies it has written "zhī 只".

我们一共有三只小狗。
wǒmen yī gòng zhī xiǎo gou.
In total we have three puppies.

I know "tiáo 条" is the measure word for dog, but I've always thought that "zhī 只" is always the measure word for puppy. Which one is more technically correct?

I think this sentence is spoken wrong in the expansion lessons:

Yesterday I celebrated my birthday with a lot of friends.  

Zuótiān wǒ hé hěn duō péngyou yīqǐ qìngzhù Shēngrì.  

昨天我和很多朋友一起庆祝生日。 

I hear "gēn" instead of "hé"

Anyone know the term for "light bulb"?  I have to get my bathroom light bulb changed with my apartment "Shū Shu".  I'm guessing its "dēng", but I'm not sure.  If I'm right my crack at the sentence would be "wǒ xǐshǒujiān de dēng kěyǐ huàn yīxià ma?"

In the sentence:

你已经喝了好几杯咖啡了。
Nǐ yǐjīng hē le hǎojǐ bēi kāfēi le.  
You've already drunk quite a few cups of coffee.  

I was wondering why 了 "le" is in this sentence twice.  Is it a typo in the expansion or is there a grammatical reason I'm not aware of?

So I watched this on Chinesepod right before I went to KTV thinking, "Ok, I can see my Chinese friends liking this song. It's got a nice sounds to it. Kind of the same way I like John Elton. I can listen to him for a little, but he can wear on me if I'm not careful." I was shocked during my first KTV experience to hear my Chinese friends go CRAZY when the song hit this screen. My lady friends were like a bunch of 15 year old girls at a Back Street Boys concert.

Does anyone know another good beginner or intermediate lesson that goes through the grammatical use of bǐjiào?  It sounded like Ken and Jenny didn't want to touch it in this lesson.

I talked with a Chinese friend who teaches Chinese in America and she told me that the "nice to meet you" phrase does not exist in the Chinese Language and when the opportunity arises, one just moves on with the conversation. She also told me that the phrase is her favorite English phrase because of the provision of closure to the introduction. She gets excited about saying it each time the opportunity arises because its different. If there is an equivalent phrase I would love be enlightened from the community.

yep. that's them. I got the wrong fruit. If hawthorn is a fruit. I'll try the yángméi when I get back out there this fall if its available. Glad to know that one of China's fruit delicacies could still quite possibly enter into Hebert's Palate.

Are yángméi an acquired taste?  I think I had some when I was in China with a sucker like red candy glaze on the outside.  The sugar didn't save it from the sour taste so I ate 3 to save face then gave the rest to a friend.  Is it a lot better without a candy coating?  Anyone strong proponents of giving it a couple more tries?  I really am more of a sweet tooth.
