November 10, 2007 at 8:52 AMback to the topic of classical poetry, I just came across recordings of under LibriVox, free audiobooks from chapters of books in the public domain, recorded by volunteers and released as public domain audio files : "Three Hundred Tang Poems, Volume 1" with Volume 2 still work-in-progress.

November 10, 2007 at 7:20 AM一千块人民币 for a public library deposit, unbelievable! BTW, don't they have 多媒体馆 (duōméitǐguǎn) multimedia libraries in China, it's very common here. And where I live there's no deposit, only a yearly fee of 15 Euros/150 人民币!!

November 9, 2007 at 12:53 PMschlitzauge, there's some discussion about it in the latest advanced lesson on 输入法 (shūrùfǎ) input methods Simplest answer is, get the free Google IME. That's under Windows, where you can also install a Chinese IME. if you have a Mac it looks like you can't use 谷歌 but I'm told it's very simple to activate Chinese input - which I seriously hope as I just ordered a 24" iMac, I do confirm that switching the Mac OS/X interface to Chinese only takes a few seconds, but I must confess I didn't check their input system.
